Q: Why Japan?!
A: Just because.

Cellphones sold in vending machines, electric baths, manga (Japanese comics) libraries, robot ladies and a lot of utopian dreams have come true in the most technologically-advanced country. And I'm not joking about that robot lady; she acts as the Information Desk in malls. She's the robotic version of a flight stewardess' torso and if you ask her a question, she'll answer... freaky.

But I'm not just fascinated with Japan's metropolitan cities, I've daydreamed of living in its rural areas too. With its rice paddies, small towns and towering electric towers. I'm just glad that their transportation system is very much developed, connecting everyone by bus or train. So even living in the mountains, you're still an hour away from their skyscrapers.

Probably influenced by watching too many animes, I've came to love every bit of Japan, good and bad. And being one of the safest countries in the world, you can take a walk at midnight, alone in a secluded area, and still live for another day!

Ahhhh~ Japan, I'm falling for you...

I bet a lot of people don't know what a 'daruma' is, and why is that the title of this blog, so here I am posting about it. XD

Let's start with the visual representation (a.k.a the picture), of what a Daruma looks like:

I'd like to call it, a 'wishing' doll. You draw a single eye (usually you draw the right eye first) while thinking of a wish, and when that wish comes true, you draw the other eye (left eye). If you are quite observant you could've seen somewhere in this blog the short poem Megane has composed:

The first eye drawn, a wish is born,
then it came true, so now there's two.

^ That basically explains what a Daruma is.

So what does a Daruma have to do with this blog? Basically, we rant about our dreams and our own wishes (whatever they may be) in this blog, just like drawing the first eye of the doll, and hopefully, hopefully, it comes true. And then we'd get to draw the second eye on the Daruma.

I hope you understood that. ^^

:: For some reason, I've never been angry with anyone
:: Anything with eggs or milk are my favorite
:: My eye got punctured by a tennis racket when I was a kid
:: I'm in front of the computer more than half of the day
:: My office cubicle is very cold...
:: I sleep by ten and I wake up at six *counts* exactly 8 hours (healthy no?)
:: There are 2 cats, 2 dogs, 6 lovebirds, and a dozen fishes (or more) in my house
:: I am a passionate graphic designer
:: Cooking is another passion of mine
:: My jaw pops every hour or so
:: There must be a hundred pocket books/novels scattered all over my house
:: Youtube sucks, Crunchyroll rocks
:: Anime + Manga + TV Series = My hobbies
:: Cleansing beads from a 'certain' facial wash gave me a Corneal Abrasion
:: They've healed now ^__^

Its THE KAISU

Hello there, I'm KaiSu, megane's and jenny's ~~mom~~ co-author for this...soon to be very lovely blog.

Anyway, a very short introduction of myself. First off, I am a fangirl. Occasionally you'd see me post rantings, random blabbings about a new song I heard, a new CD I bought, shipping problems and how I drool upon an uberly hot picture of Saga that I just saw. I'm a host-loving-jrocker-worshipping-asian-pop-freak fangirl. I love Visual Kei, I read mangas, I watch anime, I listen to songs whose lyrics I barely understand most of the time, I write. Yes, I am a writer too. I love Japan ~~and Korea~~, and by hell or high waters I swear I will visit that country one way or another.

I would like to welcome kaisu as my co-admin to One Eyed Daruma and also as a long-time classmate and friend. I might add more authors, but not too much because I still want to personalize this thing.

First entries probably are the most awkward of all, even if you're a seasoned blogger (I've made 5 blogsites). So I'll just end it here and hop to my second post later when I have the time. I've yet to explore the site, and exploit any exploitable things here. Mainly to personalize and design everything.
